Really liking Guangzhou

After a late night, we had to be up early for breakfast and on to the Medical Exam.  The breakfast buffet is wonderful.  They have a lot of "western" food plus the standard chinese fare.  We had bacon, waffles, eggs, fruit, plus cereal, muffins, and toast.  It was great to see the boys eat so well.  We have 7 families here with our agency, so we had a big bus to take us to Shamian Island for the medical exam today.  We got an itinerary that shows what each family will do each day, and when each family will leave for home.  The families have different consulate appointments, and that dictates what day you get to leave for home.  There are 4 of us with a Thursday appointment, but the other 3 will be taking the train to Hong Kong on Friday night to fly home from there.  We are flying home from Guangzhou, so we will be here until Saturday morning.  We are the last family on the itinerary to leave.

 Anna did well this morning for her medical exam.  She breezed through the ENT station and the height, weight, and temperature station.  We then had to wait in line for the physical exam, and she was actually acting up and goofing off with Matt.  She likes to beep his nose.  She will also "give me five."  I think she was trying to play peek a boo at one point, but I'm not sure.  She claps her hands too.  We have heard very few noises out of her, except the loud crying one when she thinks I am going to hold her instead of Daddy.

 She is becoming more and more curious.  She was wandering around the room today pulling out papers and pulled the camera charger from the wall and was playing with it.

After the medical exam, we walked down the street to Subway.  Just like the US, except the cookies were a little over done and we had red meat flavored potato chips.  Joshua was so happy to have Subway.  There is a Starbucks next door and a shopping mall across the street.  This afternoon we filled out our paperwork for the Consulate Appointment, so we have until Thursday to relax and sightsee.  

 

This town is really, really nice.  Our hotel is wonderful with a huge bathtub (that has a remote control shower curtain), separate shower (with a shower head or rain function from the ceiling), separate living room with a computer desk with fresh roses.  They had a crib set up for Anna with a J&J gift basket in it.  This is truly a blessing considering the little room we spent the last week in!

After naps, we are headed out to explore the hotel and dinner.
