We have had a great trip. It would have been wonderful if Anna would have bonded equally to both of us, but overall the trip has gone really well. We realize that we have some work do with her when we get home, so please don't be offended if we don't pass her around for holding, hugging, and kissing. We need to get her to accept me and help establish just what exactly a mommy and daddy are. It still breaks my heart that she will laugh and giggle with Matt, but if I try to hold her, she cries like her heart is broken.
Today we took a taxi back over to Shamian Island. It rained on and off all day, with the result being hot, steamy weather. We bought lots more souvenirs, including some brand name items that I'm pretty sure are reproductions.
We tried to take pictures of Anna in her green Chinese dress, but it made her sweaty and uncomfortable. We headed back through the White Swan, and I had the kids sit on a red couch to make the traditional adoption photo. They were wiped out.
Back in the room, we tried to finish up snacks we had, and I packed up our stuff. We have to have our bags outside the door at 8:30 am. We start a long day home. We fly from Guangzhou to Seoul at 12:40 pm and leave Seoul at 7:00 pm and arrive same day at 7:30 pm in Atlanta.
Anna will be a US citizen when we land in Atlanta!

Have enjoyed reading your blog! So glad to hear that you are on your way back. I'm also glad that she will be a US citizen, as wasn't the case years ago. You may not realize, but my sister-in-law helped to get that legislation passed in 2000 ( http://www.equalityforadoptedchildren.org/about_each/founder_biography.html ). Looking forward to meeting the newest Ward family member!
